New shoes 2017: APL/Lululemon
Running shoes that perfectly pair with our Lulus?! What could be better. The sleek look and pretty rose-gold shade paired with a comfy neoprene fit and flexible stitched upper make these a great runner, but also something we want to wear outside of the gym, too.
APL Women’s TechLoom Phantom Rose Gold, $185 at select Lululemon stores, including Toronto (Yorkdale Mall, Queen St W and The Local locations), Vancouver (W4th) and Edmonton (West Edmonton Mall).
New shoes 2017: Adidas Stella McCartney
Adidas by Stella McCartney never disappoints. And this latest new shoe launch is no different. The moulded cage is super comfy, and the pixelated pattern is a stylish way upgrade a basic pair of black leggings or capris. And like the other Ultrboost models before, the fit is snug and the heel-to-toe is effortless (as effortless as running can be).
Adidas by Stella McCartney Women’s Ultraboost Shoes, $350 at adidas.ca.
New shoes 2017: Reebok Classics
Rumour has it that this model is the first-ever leather running shoe. And while calling it a launch is a bit of a stretch, we could not help but include it in this list of fall shoe must-buys. The look is retro, and the comfort is a bit stiff at first. But like anything in leather, the warmth of the body moulds the shoe for a literal customized fit. And the white-on-white stitching is perfect for our #fromwhereIstand workout selfies.
Reebok Classic Leather Shoe, $990 at aritzia.com.
New shoes 2017: Merrell
Bootcamp is the worst when you’re in the wrong shoes. A slippy bottom makes burpees even more unbearable. We test drove these at a park workout, and found the traction on the sole make my workout even more effective, especially on dewy grass. Bonus: The shoe is made antimicrobial agents to fight odour. Your gym bag (and your partner) will thank you.
Merrell Women’s Agility Peak Flex, $150 mec.ca.
New shoes 2017: New Balance
Ever worry about your laces coming undone mid stride? Worry no more. This new lacing get-up (aka The Boa System) makes a snug fit without that feeling that the shoe is being pulled causing irritation. It literally feels like a hug. The hot pink colour is very cute too!
New Balance FuelCore Sonic, $139.99 at newbalance.ca.
New shoes 2017: Asics
Asics is a runner’s runner. And this shoe will live up to the durability that the brand is known for. Perfect for long runs, this light weight shoe gives great support when you’re hitting the pavement hard.
New shoes 2017: Salomon
When we were first sent the details for this shoe, one thing caught our attention and that’s the colour: Sangria! The makers of this had us in mind. 😉
But seriously, this heavy-duty hiking shoe has made us feel boss on the trails, thanks to its coarse and jagged sole and durable upper.
Salomon Sense Pro 2, $160 at salomon.com.
New shoes 2017: Skechers
The Skechers sole is one of the most comfortable. Plus, this cross-trainer will take you from the track to the gym. And while some shoes have a structured toe bed, this breathable mesh upper gives our tootsies the breathing space we need.
Skechers GOrun 400 Matrix, $90 at skechers.ca.
