Some of my favourite recipes come from a friend who likes to experiment, from neighbours at our annual block-party potluck, or from my mom who loves to bake. The best thing about these recipes? The little notes that say ‘I use half this amount of sugar’ or ‘low-fat yogurt works just as well’ or ‘throw in a handful of fresh basil,’ or ‘yes, it really needs 20 cloves of garlic.’ There’s something about getting a recipe that’s already been tested in someone else’s kitchen that makes it so much more appealing.

With this in mind, Best Health has set up an online ‘Community Kitchen‘ where you can share your favourite healthy recipes, cooking tips and even nominate a favourite healthy restaurant. And, we’ll publish some of these home-tested approaches in the magazine.

See the good-for-you dishes already sent in by Best Health readers in the May issue of the magazine (on newsstands now) for quick-and-easy ‘Salmon Topped with Beans and Vegetables,’ nicely spiced ‘Aromatic Chicken’ and ‘Vegetable Casserole with Crunchy Bread Topping.’ (Recipes from the previous two issues are available online: "Mama Mollie" Tomato Sauce and Creamy Banana-Nut Breakfast.)

And I’m looking forward to trying some of your recipes in my own kitchen.
