Here are three ways to spend time with mom on Mother’s Day.
If you’re looking for a way to thank mom for putting up with you, make her a yummy brunch. Try these Hearty Tex-Mex Brunch Eggs, or some Muesli with Strawberries and Hazelnuts, or if mom’s just as much of a health nut as you are, then try the Country Berry Smoothie. At 10 a.m. on Sunday, the Run For Mom races will start start. There are three events: the 8-km Sanctioned Race, ‘5-km Fun Run/Walk’and the 1km Kids’ Run. The race raises money for the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation, supporting women and children programs at the Chilliwack General Hospital. This year, however, the goal is to get funds for a fetal monitor.
May 8, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Every year, the Bata Shoe Museum hosts the Annual Mother’s Day Tea Tasting, led by Kerri M. Lee of Lee-Middleton Gourmet Tea. Whether your background is British or you love tea, this will be a treat. Tickets are $40 per person (416-979-7799 x 445 or [email protected]), and a portion of the money will be donated to breast cancer research.
