Kelly Davidson "kicked cancer’s ass."

And she wants to remember it.

That’s why, after a double mastectomy, the three-time cancer survivor decided not to get reconstructive surgery.

Instead, she opted to get inked with a majestic tattoo of a fairy and butterflies in a forest – which for her, represents her transformation and metamorphosis.

“It is my badge of honour and strength, a piece of beautiful art that I wear with pride because it represents how I kicked cancer’s ass and how breasts don’t define who I am as a person or a woman,” Davidson wrote on the ‘Why We Ink’ Facebook group.

The group is a place for people to share tattoos they got either as a tribute to someone they love that had cancer, or to mark their own triumph over the disease.

Davidson did just that – but she never could have predicted the outpouring of love and support that would come from sharing her story.

Her photo has now been shared more than 94,000 times, and her self-described "badge of honour and strength" has become a source of inspiration for all her supporters.

What do you think of Kelly’s tattoo?
