Whenever I see the word cucumber in a skin care product, I’m there. (In a salad, not so much.) I attribute this to nostalgia. I think my very first moisturizer was a cucumber lotion procured at Rita’s Facial, a long-gone old-school European facial establishment in the neighbourhood I grew up in, and introduced to me by my mother.

So I was delighted to see that The Body Shop is bringing back one of its original products, Cucumber Cleansing Milk, as part of The Originals Collection. It’s at The Body Shop until spring 2010.

I’m also loving Pond’s Cleansing and Exfoliating pre-moistened towelettes, with an exfoliating texture on one side of the towelette’very clever’and infused with aloe, cucumber and green tea.

And then there’s St. Ives Cucumber Melon Body Wash. Refreshing is the word. And there’s nothing nostalgic about its new, zippy, brighten-up-your bathroom packaging.
