Quick, think about Britney Spears. What came to mind? A party girl in a short skirt sans panties? A crazed bald woman? A sweaty scantily-clad pop icon?

Yes, Britney is many things to many people. But now she may also be considered by some to be’a feminist role model (!?).

In a shockingly decent move, Spears has allowed untouched  images of her most recent photo shoot for Candies shoes to be released alongside the air-brushed version, the Daily Mail UK reports.  Let’s compare and contrast, shall we? In the photo on the left, Brit appears to look like a normal, 29-year-old woman. In the image on the right, she appears much like her Hollywood-manufactured self. Note the much, much perkier bum on Photoshop-erific Britney’proving once again that you really can only get a"perfect bum" from a software package.

Yes, this is a grand publicity stunt. But alongside all of Britney’s other attention-grabbing shenanigans, isn’t it refreshing to see her do something that just might boost the self-esteem of the women who idolize her?

Brit’s not the only celeb jumping on the au natural bandwagon. Jessica Simpson appears bare-faced on the cover of May’s Marie Claire magazine. I think she looks fab. Do you?

While we all know that images of celebrities are touched up, it’s still great to be reminded the extent to which their pictures are manipulated. What do you think? Does it help boost your own body confidence to know that even Brit and Jess have flaws?
