Want an easy way to improve your health? Join a choir! According to Jonas Vaag, a clinical psychologist at Nord-Trondelag Health Trust in Norway, the social bonds formed during an activity such as singing have a positive effect of your perceived well-being and general health. Singing also releases endorphins, which help you feel happier.
Not interested in joining a choir? Schedule regular karaoke dates or Rock Band parties with your pals, or go it solo and sing along to the radio while you’re in the car.
And, if you’re not one for singing in public, there’s always the shower!
Personally, when I’m in a really good (and perhaps somewhat silly) mood, I tend to speak in a sing-song voice.
