Best Health’s web editor Kat Tancock got a sample of Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Awakening Face Massager. It kind of looks like roll-on deodorant, and it’s meant to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. I’m a sucker for gimmicky beauty products, so I told her I’d give it a try.

A few days later, I got into a silly argument with a silly person ‘ and I was even more silly for letting it affect me. A tension headache hit as soon as I walked away. Plus, it rained earlier that day so I my head was already feeling a little off. But I was shocked at what cured my pain.

After the little tiff, I went home and laid on my bed. I turned on the TV and remembered how one time I had a similar-type of headache before a facial. I didn’t think this beauty product would replace the soothing facial massage from an esthetician and it’s not marketed as a pain reliever, but I didn’t care at that point.

I moved the roller around my eyes, with a slight pressure at the temples. I also applied it on my cheekbones, too. I did that for about a minute or so and laid back down. I forgot that I even had a headache until I went to put the face massager away and reminded myself that it was gone. When my boyfriend got a headache a few days later, I told him my story and he tried it, too. He admitted to liking the smell. Who knew?
