Looking for something to do this week? Here are three events I think you might enjoy.

Jingle all the way

St. John’s, NL, November 14th

At the Medavie Blue Cross Jingle Bell Walk and Run, you will literally jingle all the way, as all participants are given bells for their races, including the 5-K and the 1-mile walk/run events. Afterwards there is a brunch with live entertainment from the Kilkenny Krew. For more info, check out the race’s Facebook group. And if you want to find a Jingle Walk/Run race in your area, go to the Arthritis Society’s website. The proceeds from this race benefits the Arthritis Society of Newfoundland and Labrador Division. Register at runningroom.com.

Celebrate a good cause

Calgary, November 18

Sing Happy Birthday to the Calgary Meals on Wheels. The charity is turning 45 and is hosting a 1960s-themed birthday party at the Willow Park Wines & Spirts on Bonaventure Drive. Comedian Jebb Fink is hosting the event, that will include wine-tasting, retro-style appetizers, dancing, a silent auction and a Hot Soup children’s art exhibit. Tickets are $75, and can be purchased through Meals On Wheels.

Catch a movie

Toronto, November 19-21

The Rethink Breast Cancer organization is hosting Breast Fest Film Fest. Through compelling and thought-provoking films and documentaries ‘ as well as panels, workshops and speakers ‘ the film festival is meant to bring awareness to the issues surrounding breast cancer. For more info, go to Breast Fest Film Fest
