What better way to end the summer than a good old burger competition? This year, from Sept. 1 to Sept. 7, Le Burger Week will take place in six Canadian cities (Montreal, Ottawa, Gatineau, Quebec City, Toronto and Winnipeg). This is the third year for the competition (which originally launched in Montreal), and this year it has a charitable component, too. Port-au-Prince, Haiti will also take part and Le Burger Week will be raising funds to benefit the city as it continues to recover from a 2010 earthquake.
But what does all this burger eating have to do with health? Well, the top burger eaters in each city will be gifted gym passes! Montreal will also host a "Burger Bootcamp," designed to help participants burn off the amount of calories in a burger. Visit www.leburgerweek.com for more information and to vote for your favourite burger.
