Well, it’s November and you know what that means: dudes across the world will be sporting ridiculous-looking mustaches to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer. Now in its sixth year, the Movember campaign challenges men to grow a wicked ‘stache through out the month of November. The rules are pretty simple: start November with a clean shave, then grow your mo’ monster throughout the month. While your lover recoils in horror (ha, ha), your friends and family can sponsor your hairy endeavour through the Movember website.

Funds raised through Movember’s Canadian campaign go directly to Prostate Cancer Canada to be funneled into research and support programs for prostate cancer survivors.

According to Prostate Cancer Canada, the disease is the number one cancer affecting Canadian men’one in six men will develop it in his lifetime. Risk factors for the disease include weight, age, ethnicity and environmental factors, to name a few.

Last year, the Canadian Movember campaign raised $7.8 million for the cause, which is an amazing accomplishment. Yet we’d like to acknowledge that the mustaches men grow are no small feat themselves. That’s why we’re eager to get a look at the ‘mos you’re growing this Movember. Send us pictures of your cookie dusters (or pics of the men and mustaches you love) and you could see your hairy faces up on the Best Health website.

And because we do so love a man with a mustache (and a great cause, to boot), we’re giving away a free one-year subscription to Best Health and a Schick Hydro gift pack to the person who submits the picture of the craziest, zaniest Movember ‘stash. Just post your pictures on our Facebook page, tweet them @besthealthmag or send them to [email protected] by Tuesday, November 30 2010 at 11:59 pm EDT and we’ll pick one lucky winner of a one-year subscription to Best Health (click here for full contest rules). Make sure to send this post to all your mustachioed friends so they have a chance to show off their long, beautiful facial hair!
