Building the Best Health Community

I just got back from a week-long trip to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver to talk about Best Health magazine on breakfast television shows. It was amazing to hear firsthand from that part of the country how excited women are about this new magazine. Some of the things people told me were that: it speaks to them in a fresh way that isn’t talking down; it has incredibly compelling articles from cover to cover—“I can’t wait to start the Walking Plan!” one Edmonton woman told me—and its design and matte paper are one-of-a-kind.

These are the very same comments we’ve been getting from women from all over Canada, whether face-to-face or by e-mail. That tells us we’re on the right track (and that you’re going to love the Summer Issue, which will begin hitting newsstands and landing in your mailboxes in a couple of weeks). But more than that, it really brings home the fact that right across this country there’s a community of likeminded women who want to embrace a healthy lifestyle. We aim to make Best Health an important part of that community, and while it’s early days, I feel the foundations of a lasting relationship have been solidly laid.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll keep telling us what matters most to you (and sharing your success stories!) through the blog comments, the forums and e-mails!
