Improving forgetfulness may be as delicious as enjoying some Blueberry Popovers with Berry Salad. Mmmm!
Dr. Jeremy Spencer and researchers at the UK’s University of Reading and the Peninsula Medical School found that supplementing study participants’ regular diet with blueberries over a 12-week period boosted results on spatial working memory tasks within three weeks. They believe flavonoids in the berries enhance brain-cell connections, reports Eurekalert.org.
Flavonoids are phytonutrients that promote good health. As eatrightontario.ca points out, you can’t go wrong by eating more phytochemical-rich berries, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, sweet potatoes, peaches, mangos, spinach, kale, broccoli and Swiss chard.
Luckily, we’ve got a great recipe for every one!
