If you’ve ever avoided sex because you had a bad headache, note that sexual activity can actually help relieve the pain, according to research published earlier this year. Of the patients who had sex during a migraine headache, 60 percent reported less pain. (For cluster headaches, 37 percent of patients saw an improvement.) While it could be that sex is simply a distraction from the pain, the researchers say other possible reasons include the release of endorphins, blood pressure change and post-orgasmic relaxation. Whatever the reason, it’s worth a try, right?
