According to Canadian Blood Services, a single blood donation can help save as many as three lives. In Canada, donations of O negative’the universal type’are especially in demand, as it’s used in emergencies involving newborns, trauma victims and those with compromised immune function. So, is yours common? (If you don’t know your blood type, ask your doctor.)
