Fashion fans are lined up outside the newest Nordstrom Rack Canada location today.
The One Bloor location opened this morning (May 3) to a crowd anxiously waiting to swipe their credit cards. Earlier this week, we got to tour the new store ahead of its grand opening. Here’s what we learned.
How much will you save?
Nordstrom Rack Canada stores will offer many of the same brands that can be found at Nordstrom stores (think Ted Baker London, Kate Spade New York, Theory, Bobbi Brown and more) at up to 70 percent off.
Best Tip: Check out the footwear section for the best savings. At a sneak peek for media we spotted Adidas sneakers for as little as $40. The designer footwear section is also worth a good look. You’ll find major designer names like Valentino and Manolo Blahnik at discounted (but still not necessarily cheap) prices. For example, we saw a pair of Valentino Garavani Rockstud T-Strap Flats for roughly half of the regular retail price (about $600, compared to $1,300).
How big is the store?
One Bloor will be the largest Nordstrom Rack in Canada with two levels and 38,600 square feet of fashion.
Best Tip: Head to the second level first. There you’ll find footwear, and men’s, ladies and children’s fashions. Then finish your visit on the main floor (with beauty, accessories and home goods) before you check out.
What’s the selection like?
The second floor of the One Bloor Nordstrom Rack Canada store houses all fashion and footwear and the variety and sizing is good. Reportedly, 30 percent of the merchandise at Nordstrom Rack Canada stores will come from its full-line Nordstrom stores, compared to just 15 percent in the U.S.
Best Tip: As we mentioned, the footwear section is a must-visit with brands like Nike, Adidas, Toms and Nine West, as well as designer brands like Jimmy Choo, Tory Burch and Valentino.
The denim section (particularly women’s denim) is also amazing. Look for brands like Levi’ and Fidelity Denim, among many others.
Where can I find the Nordstrom Rack Canada nearest to me?
One Bloor (Toronto) is the third store to open in Canada. The first Nordstrom Rack Canada opened at Vaughn Mills on March 22, followed by Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary on April 26.
Three more locations will open this fall: South Edmonton Common in Edmonton, Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga and The Ottawa Train Yards in Ottawa.
