1) Finish your vegetables
This clean eating rule may not come as a surprise, but you should include in your diet as many fresh fruits and vegetables as possible every day. Along with providing vitamins and nutrients, the fibre in vegetables and fruits can help with weight loss by making you feel fuller for longer and promoting a healthy digestive system.
2) Pack on the protein
Protein acts as fuel to keep your body running efficiently and at optimal levels. If you don’t get enough, it can result in lost muscle mass and weakened heart and respiratory systems. Hemp hearts are a good source. Providing protein and fibre, hemp contains all the essential amino acids, making it an ideal choice to add to smoothies and bars.
3) Drink up
Stay hydrated by drinking at least eight to 10 glasses of water a day. Drinking water can boost your metabolism, which in turn can help your body burn fat. Flavour water with sliced citrus, berries, sliced cucumber or fresh ginger and herbs or sip hot or iced (unsweetened) herbal or green tea.
4) Become an iron lady
This mineral is essential for the production of hemoglobin in red blood cells, ensuring that oxygen in your blood circulates efficiently from your lungs to your body’s tissues. Too little iron can result in low energy and fatigue. Choose iron-rich foods that are easily absorbed, including lean red meat, lentils and iron-fortified breakfast cereals.
