Well I would like to erase October from my mind because it was a turbulent month for me. I had my wisdom teeth taken out at the end of September, and they did not heal well and I got dry socket; very painful. After that I came down with the flu and was sick off and on for most of the month. One would think being sick and having a sore mouth would make you eat less, but not me. When I am stressed I overeat and unfortunately because I could not chew anything crunchy I dove into pudding, cake, cookies and other unhealthy foods.

Well my goal of running a half marathon has been dashed by my dentist. I had to have all four of my wisdom teeth out this week so I will not be able to do my run because I will not be healed in time. It has also made eating healthy difficult because I have been feeling sick and I can’t chew most foods well so I have been eating soft foods like pudding. Hopefully after the weekend I will be feeling better and I can get back to eating well and working out.

My goal for this challenge is to run a half marathon on my 25th birthday. I do a fair bit of running regularly so I thought this would be a good challenge to prove to myself that even though I am soon to be half way to 30 that I can still be strong and fit. I also want to celebrate the 30lbs I have lost over the last year, and what better way to show off my new shape then running in a large race? Now to get my butt in gear and crank up the training.

"Don’t fall off the exercise wagon over the holidays," says Bruce Krahn. This week, sit down with your calendar and schedule regular fitness sessions for the rest of the month. Even if you can't exercise as often as you usually do, a minimum of three 30-minute workouts a week will keep your stress levels down and your metabolism going.Take the ChallengeView All
