Starting Out On My Wellness Journey...Again!

November 27, 2011

In January, I resolved to lose all my baby weight.  (My baby is 5 years old.  Better late than never, right?)  I was going to work out every day, lose the extra pounds, eat and feed my family healthfully, regain my energy, and make all the necessary healthy changes to feel like I did 15 years ago - pre-marriage and pre-motherhood.

My Mom and I did join a weigh-loss support group together.  I did lose about 15 pounds.  And then came the summer.  No more wellness class.  Yep, back came the last 5 pounds.  I yo-yoed on the fitness path.  Tried joining a running group for a bit.  Went through a phase of getting up before kids and doing a work out.  But nothing has stuck.

So...

Here I am, almost a year later, trying (but not with enough effort or committment or gumption) not to slide back any further, wanting to move forward and shed 20 pounds, but not finding the energy or hutzpah (sp?) to get back to it.  Not just get back to it, but STAY at it!!

One good thing that I have started and kept up was to start participating in a Learn to Skate and Play Hockey program.  That is great.  Lots of fun.  But only once a week.

Somehow, tonight, yes, tonight, among all that needs to be done, I need to get on my treadmill.  (Poor thing is feeling  awfully lonely and neglected!)  I will try to report in tomorrow and let you know how I did.

Here we go!

Starting out...Again!
