You are both partially correct. Too much stress over what we should and should not eat, along with the fact that "Genetics" plays a bigger part in our health problems, disease, weight loss or gain or skin or beauty in general - that is why we have so many physicians, specialists, cosmetic surgeons, psychologists, nutritionists, to apparently "help" people do the right thing and change their apparent terrible lifestyles!
However, if we just lived our lives, ate when we were hungry, slept when we are tired, and stopped letting the rest of the world tell us what we are doing wrong, or not doing right, we would all be alot healthier and happier!

I am a farmer's wife; we are now retired and continue to live in our big lovely home, drawing a good living from the rent of our lands; I have eaten all the foods you avoid, have done all negative things you did not do, I am 85 years of age, AND I am also a retired law clerk from Bay Street in Toronto after thirty years, travelling 75 miles each way each day, working long hours, and still helping when necessary on the farm, brought up two wonderful sons who are successful in the marketplace, I cooked all our meals with good planning, baked for three hours on the weekend, ran a clean and orderly home and we all laughed a lot and had great family outings. AND I AM HEALTHY AS A HORSE.

GO FIGURE. In my humble opinion, it is all in the mind, if you are happy and content with your life and work at what you enjoy, be sensible about getting both enough exercise and enough rest, whilst taking or making the time to enjoy your family and friends, then that is all you need to be happy.

I eat no less than 5 fruits plus 5 vegetables, have eaten no smoked, no processed, (no canned or packaged), no preserved foods, &live on DAILY PURCHASES OR PICKINGS OF FRESH FOODS, OR FRESH FROZEN FOODS! We have received all our regular vaccinations, responsibly taken prescribed medications, albeit often the response is often rare side-effects or severe allergic reactions. SO, HOW HEALTHY IS THE FOOD THAT WE ARE LEFT TO PURCHASE? MAYBE YOU SHOULD BE DICTATING TO THE GMO COMPANIES, PRODUCERS, MANUFACTURERS, SHIPPERS & MARKETS, TO ENSURE THE FOOD THEY PRODUCE, SHIP & STORE ARE FOLLOWING STRICT GUIDELINES, OF NO PESTICIDES, ETC. - NO FROZEN FRUITS/VEGETABLES ON SHIPPING TRUCKS, LEFT TO THAW & ROT ON THE SHELF OR AT THE CONSUMERS HOME!
