Hey we all have weight problems most of us r on medication for mental illness are we suppose to stop taking our pills and loose weight and be really bad off or take our pills and gain .What You all have to remember is that Our Father in heaven made us Beutiful in his own image and hey thats good enough for me (i have lost over 100 lbs) but someone very close to me has gained alot of weight because of their medication but I know in my heart that Our Lord Loves us NO MATTER WHAT WE LOOK LIKE OR HOW MUCH WE WEIGHT He loves us all the same so remember to look at the persons face and dont judge just smile God Bless you all

I was THAT person....tried EVERYTHING to lose weight, but nothing seemed to work....BUT....since Jan 6th, I've lost 4.7lbs (which doesn't seem like a whole lot), but I've also lost 24" off my entire body, which shows that I'm releasing fat, and gaining lean muscle (which weighs more than fat). Not only that, but my energy levels have sky rocketed, and I've managed to 'clear out the cobwebs' and be more focussed. How you might be asking? I tried Isagenix...if you want some more information, please feel free to email me (shanainai1@hotmail.com - just be sure to include 'Isagenix' in the subject line in case it goes to my junk mail), or check out the following links:

Exercise is the key I have found. I am in my mid forties, struggled with weight most of my life. Then I had a back injury and had to rethink my life. I started with a regular exercise program (yoga, then pilates) Now I teach Dance Fusion fitness after finding Nia Dance (easy on the joints). In the best shape of my life, and when I do my dance, I'm having sooooo much fun, I don't even think of it as exercise, but, the weight stays away. 1/6 th avacado, really? Walking also helped me drop 50 pounds without dieting. I watch what I eat, but, do not deny myself anyhting. My doc tells me I'm extremely healthy.

1/6 Avocado is not quite practical, I eat full once in a while, is it a concern

The treat free part is silly. As a diabetic there are lots of options out there. Look for sugar free stuff that has low carbs. I make a pudding and mousse combo where I make 5 portions and gives a nice dessert. The Diabetic plate is suppose to be HALF of veggies. It's a much healthier way of eating. Even just walking keeps my sugar levels down. You don't have to join a gym to exercise, just move more.

Why are these articles only ever directed at women?!?

Look at the girl standing on the weigh scale on the previous sympatico.ca page leading to this article. Should you really be promoting the idea that people as thin as she, STILL!!!! have weight to lose? Honestly - how pathetic have we become. Shame on those that choose the photos for these articles, and the very disturbing messages that it sends to all women, particularly the younger set. Get real and get responsible!!

Her feet are atrocious.... makes me want to vomit.

Try using a girl who actually needs to lose weight in your ad ??

Exercise and being active is such a key component to losing weight. I am surprised it was not included in this weight loss advise.

A man made technology could be making your liver slow down too. Wifi, wireless hydrometers, cell phones, wireless water meters are all inter related to new health studies. www citizens for safe technology com they are not safe or smart technology at all just marketing to make money off the uneducated.

You are on the wrong track for most of what was said. Calories have nothing to do with watching your weight. If you remember there was a book popular in the early sixties, "Calories don't count". You must have some fat at every meal. Don't over do it. "You have to eat fat to lose fat". What you have to watch for is carbohydrates. All carbohydrates are sugar. So, you want to eat foods low in carbs, like vegetables and fruit. Don't eat anything to do with wheat (bread, pasta, etc.). You must always eat some protein with you meal. Protein provides Glucagon which puts a direct control on your insulin levels. When you control your insulin levels, you control your weight.

Read The Zone by Dr. Barry Sears. I have done the above for 12 years now. I lost 25 lbs. then and I have maintained my weight since then. I am a guy. My weight ranges between 138 and 140 llbs and has remained in this range for 12 years now. I have no hunger. Drink some wine etc.

OMG.....you gain weight because of not eating healthy and not keeping active. Yes some medications may not help but it's mostly water retention. Maintaining an active, healthy and balanced lifestyle will do wonders....go figure

You will never exercise your way out of a bad diet. The recommendation to consume 300g of carbohydrates a day (1200 calories) will put you on the road to diabetes as well as pack on the pounds. What works for me is to limit carbs to about 60g per day. I maintain my weight at 160 lb (from 175 lb 3 years ago) and I am 72 years old. Corn flakes with skim milk and fruit is not what I have for breakfast. My breakfast is bacon, 3 eggs, 20g cheese, 20g butter and coconut oil, and 100g broccoli. This keeps me satisfied for 6 hours with no need to snack. My triglycerides are 65 and HDL 85 mg/dl. When I followed The Canada Food Guide TG were 162 and HDL was 49 and I did not feel as good as I feel today.

weight loss is connected to several things, 1) get enough sleep, if youre tired you produce more cortisol AND you crave high gi carbs and sugar for missing energy, 2) don't focus on how fat you are and how gross you feel...that is de-motivating...to lose wieght focus on what the new, beautiful slim you looks like and work toward that, 3) eat smaller portions and chose, high protein, high vegs and fruit and low carbs with dense grains 4) 10 mins of moving more is better than 10 mins on the couch 5) celebrate the sucesses and use setbacks as opportunity to learn more about you so next time you are better prepared 6) watch the liquids hidden calories are in juice, milk, lattes 7) be consistent....most people give up just before they got over that hump...its like quitting school just at the end because the pressure of exams is too much...and 8) try hypnosis.....getting to the source, dealing with impulse eating, learning to love exercise can and does create powerful shifts of change.

And remember....dont' change what you eat or begin exercise because youre fat, gross or hate the way you look.....change because youlll have more energy, feel great, have freedom to buy new clothes, lose weight by plugging back into life and soon you will see weight was simply a metaphor...a call to action that something in your life is out of balance. , My 2 cents worth Deirdre Rolfe

I take lithium for bipolar which packs on the pounds quickly. Whether a dedicated gym member or not.

omg where do you ppl come up with this stuff some of this only pertains to a small fraction of the population what about the rest of us who are doing everything we can to lose weight & still nothing works
bin there done that

I found that "Aquafitness" is the BEST for loosing
BELLY FAT !!!! I go five day's a week...one hour
each session!!!!

"Did I miss the slide where it says you're not losing weight because you don't exercise?"

Winner.

Did I miss the slide where it says you're not losing weight because you don't exercise?

Who the hell eats one SIXTH of an avacado? Seriously.
