I am personally against the majority of vaccines for a number of reasons, which I won't go into detail on here (none of which has to do with any of the 'hype' surrounding vaccines). But just because I do not feel they are appropriate for me, does not mean that I have a personal opinion on what is wrong or right for the rest of the population and I think people are forgetting that. I have every right to refuse to vaccinate myself, but that opinion doesn't and shouldn't extend to the general population. Similarly, those who are recommending that we 'read up' on the statistics before we refuse vaccinations need to remember that our refusal to get vaccinated is not affecting your ability or right to do so if you wish.
At 30 years old, I have NEVER had the flu in my life and I do not remember the last time I had a cold. In truth, a small part of my refusal to get vaccinated is due to the fact that I am (maybe irrationally) concerned about my luck running out the second I take measures that SOME claim can actually make things worse. I firmly believe that the human body has it's own defense mechanisms which hand washing and proper nutrition can strengthen, but 'artificial' means may only strengthen the defenses of the viruses and bacteria we're trying to rid ourselves of. Maybe I'm not 'informed' enough about vaccines, but a number of studies have suggested (albeit, not definitively proven), that our overly germophobe society may be making things worse. Not to say that vaccines are all bad; they've eradicated a number of deadly diseases and hopefully they'll eradicate more. But when it comes to this particular vaccine, I choose to draw the line.
One of the BEST ways to beat the flu and increase your immunity is to increase your Calcium (not from milk) and V-D3 intake allot and also, and I do not know why more people do not know this, but carbonated drinks, especially ones with "sugar" such as an 8oz can of pop, blocks the absorption of Calcium in your body thus paralyzing your immune system for 12 hours! Do not drink pop and let your kids drink pop. Drinking pop will subject your children and yourselves to these airborne and hand-to-mouth illnesses. This should be the #1 thing to do to be healthy and prevent getting sick above anything else.
While I defend the right of others to voice opinions, I am totally amazed by comments made based on what someone told someone else, or on one's own fears without sound evidence. If you are afraid of mercury, check out what the EXACT substance is in the vaccines, check out how much true mercury is in Tuna etc. I beg people to do their OWN research based on facts and then make YOUR OWN decision, whether or not you decide for or against. Also, I find it interesting that people are blindly accepting testmonial evidence on natural "cures". Again, do your own research and not on sites that are set up to sell the product. Above all remember the 3 C's....Cleanse, Cover, Contain!
Healthy living is the best preventative! Everyone likes a "quick fix" like a pill or a needle, but there's no pill for self-control. Keep drugs out of your system! BTW, WATER is the best "health drink"!!
Garlic is good.... an article by a doctor recommended you GARGLE AND SNORT SALT WATER EVERY DAY. It will kill the flu virus in your nose and throat before it develops. It also kills cold viruses.
I totally agree that the flu vaccine is not good and a waste of money... yes, I had to pay for it at my place of work because I was a consultant. Afterward, I got really sick. Stay away from the flu vaccine and boost your immune system instead.
I agree with taking more Vitamin D, Since my Doctor told me to take 1000 mg a day I am not getting sick 5 times in september waiting for the flu shot. Plus a Dr . told me to take 500 mg of Vit C a day to stop bladder infections and that has also been true. Some Drs. can think outside the box and that is truly helpfull.
I agree with everything on here EXCEPT #9; getting any type of vaccination is one of the WORST things you can do for your health. One should naturally improve the immune system. They should have added the following fruits & vegetables;
1. Orange & Grape Fruit
2. Apple
3. Garlic
Beside that I also take unpasteurized honey.
It’s been 7 years my body fight back the flu and I hardly suffer from it.
Better to eat lots of lean meats and fresh vegtables combined, especially Rose Veal it is extra lean and is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants.
I was in agreement until I got to #9; woops! No wayJose! I thought these were suggestions for building one's immuity--not compromising it! Don't get sucked in.
Found the articles interesting, but I think the Government is putting the scare tactic on all of us. If you wash your hands properly, avoid crowds and get enough rest, you should be okay. When SARS hit us, the hype was over blown. Maybe the Government and Health Dept. should control WHAT comes into this country and check EVERYONE that comes in regardless. When my parents came to Canada, they were put through a health check and had to wait 10 days before they could even come to Canada. Now people just hop on a plane and arrive in Canada without any checking whatsoever. WHY????
They also don't mention getting adequate sleep which is so important for fighting any kind of bug. Getting at least 8 hours per night of uninterupted sleep is like a life line for your immune system.
I agree with everything on here EXCEPT #9. Getting any type of vaccination is one of the WORST things you can do for your health. These vaccines contain mercury and lead and will compromise your own immune system in the long run. What is worse, is that they cause bugs to evolve and become much trickier to kill. DO NOT GET THE FLU SHOT. BAD ADVICE.
They totally forgot about garlic. Garlic naturally boosts the immune system. Also stop eating so much meat. I have been vegetarian for many years. I have never had the flu shot and have never had the flu. I also have only had 1 sick day in the 33 years since I left high school, and it was from food poisoning.
