As a fragrance sensitive individual, I was very happy to see an article that legitimized what my family has been dealing with for years! It is an ongoing struggle, especially in the workplace, to get people understand that the use of some products can make those around them truly ill. This article can be a wonderful tool in educating the public to the effects of scents. It was very sympathetic to those who suffer from what can truly be a debilitating health problem. I absolutely agree that fragrance in personal grooming products are hard for people like me to tolerate. However, I was a little disappointed that laundry products and air fresheners were omitted, as I know many people (like my family) find them to be especially toxic. It is articles like this that make me very happy to be a subscriber! Thank you again, Lisa
i enjoyed your article titled Me, a natural born curler. As a mom of 3 little boys I was thrilled when I discovered this little appreciated sport. I have been curling for 5 years now and look forward to my thursday evenings with the girls. Not only do we curl out of our club but occasionally attend bonspiels at other clubs as well. But my biggest acheivement is when a girlfriend and I created a bonspiel to raise funds for the Montreal Childrens Hospital. Out of our 6 children we had three that were born with a heart condition and required open heart surgery at the Childrens. One evening after curling we starting talking about how we can help the hospital that helped our children. From there Riverfield Curling for Kids was created. We invited culers and non-curlers to come out for this fundraising event and it was a huge success. Curling is a fantastic way to socailize and is truly a gentlemen sport. But what most people don't realize that is amazingly fun. We have just finished our third year for the childrens hospital and have raised a total of 30,000.00. Not bad for a town that boast a population of maybe 1000. Would I recommend curling to anyone I meet who is looking for a fun way to meet people and do a little exercise? In a heartbeat!! It is an inexpensive sport, great for any age and gender and where else can you go and holler at your team mates at the top of your lungs and not get clobbered? I will be a member for a long long time. corri
