Eat well, live long

For people who are resistant to change, the idea of altering their dietary habits, which is necessary to prevent the development of cardiovascular disease (and all chronic diseases), is often perceived as a restriction, a sort of punishment incompatible with quality of life. According to their thinking, “You can live to be a hundred if you give up all the things that make you want to live to be a hundred” (Woody Allen).

However, nothing could be further from the truth! In practice, heart disease prevention means we can enjoy a great variety of delicious foods that will diversify our culinary experiences and bring us extraordinary gastronomic pleasure. Here are some ways to get started.

I say moderation, moderation, moderation on anything you eat.

Hi, I read every the news that you post in your site, I have a question: It is known that the dark chocolate, red wine and green tea are very good for heart, but what about if you have some problem with the high blood pressure. Are they continuing to be beneficial, or they have to be removed from our food? Thanks!

With due respect to the authors, I submit that white flour (from wheat) should not be regarded unfavorably, nor written off as being bad or unhealthy ; far from it !!
Best to bear in mind that such flour is "enriched" i.e. has added to it in powder form, the nutritious elements which are removed during milling by separating the endosperm (the white portion of the wheat kernel) from the bran layers (kernel's outer coating and the wheat germ.
Such enrichment is in accordance with long-standing federal government regulation in order to replace the nutritive elements which are naturally present in whole grain flour.

Moreover, many people find that their digestive systems are sensitive to the "rough" effect of the bran, and therefore must eat something which is easier on them, yet nutritious and satisfying.

Excellent article, It was precise , giving some quick facts that are easy to remember and they back up other findings that I have read about.
Thank you. Now for some dark chocolate without milk or green tea ( have them later)
I am 82 and healthy and I do eat these products regularly.
thank you
E.P.

I guess I'm doomed. Three out of seven (whole grain, chocolate and red wine). Hate to live on that, but the rest just isn't going to happen .....

So glad to hear others are noticing the benefits of Healthy CHocolate. The chocolate that I distribute is caffeine free and milk free. I used to need antiacid each night before bed. Now I just eat healthy chocolate three times a day.
