I hear you. I had same problem in my late 40's. Tried progesterone meds which helped for awhile. After having my blood count drop below 90 my OB GYN suggested an ablation. Absolutely wonderful solution for me. No more periods. Entered menopause a couple of years later. Never regretted it.
All you say is well and good but my periods have been cloting with overly heavy flow (two heavy use tampons and pads every 1.5 hours) since I was about 40. Doctors, many many doctors, told me this is normal flow and to have another dnc - that will clear it up, not. So sick to the run around I now deal every month with this issue for 4-6 heavy days and 4 lighter. Not going to see another quack again.
