Moroccan Sunshine
Mix up a pitcher of this fruity virgin cocktail to refresh the whole family on a summer afternoon. (And if you top some glasses off with a shot of vodka, we won't tell.)
8 cups (2 L) orange juice
3
cinnamon sticks

tsp (25 mL)
star anise
2 1/2
tsp (12 mL)
sumac
2 1/2 tsp (12 mL) saffron
1
pear
1
tsp (5 mL)
ground cinnamon
Look for star anise, sumac and saffron in the international food section in large grocery stores.
In saucepan, combine orange juice, cinnamon sticks, star anise and sumac. Steep for 5 minutes on a low boil. Add saffron and let cool. Strain and pour into cocktail glasses, and serve on the rocks. Garnish with thin slices of pear and ground cinnamon. Makes 2 L.
