Baked Salmon with Maple Syrup
Registered dietitian, Sue Mah, shares one of her favourite family dinner recipes which appears in the new Dietitian’s of Canada cookbook Cook!
2 Tbsp (30 mL) packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp (30 mL) pure maple syrup
1 Tbsp (15 mL) reduced-sodium soy sauce
4 pieces (total 500 g) skinless salmon fillet
2 tsp (10 mL) sliced almonds, toasted
- Preheat oven to 375C.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, maple syrup and soy sauce, and set aside.
- Lightly grease a rimmed baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- Place salmon fillets on baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and drizzle evenly with maple syrup sauce.
- Bake for two to three minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
- Sprinkle with almonds and serve.
Makes 4 servings.
