Not because I am greek, but fish from the Agean sea and Meditteranean in general, are superior from the rest of the world. If you haven't eaten fish like: the greek royal porgy, red snapper, barbouni ,koutsoumoura, and tuna from greece, you have not tasted what a good fish tastes like.
Hello
is there a good fish recipe book out there, easy and simple for any kitchen.
Thanks
Francois
"All wild Pacific salmon species face conservation issues, but not enough to warrant concern" WOW what planet does this writer come from, salmon runs in BC are so down that there isnt enough for the fishermen to even get their boats out.
There is nothing as good or nutritious as fish caught in the wild. I stay away from farmed fish as much as possible, especially salmon. There are so many additives added to the food fed to these fish, especially salmon (to give them that bright color), I just don't think it's an healthy alternative to wild fish from the ocean.....Someone who worked in a fish pellet plant told me about the dye that's added to the feed. He would never eat farmed salmon....... Shrimp and other small fish are what gives wild salmon that HEALTHY color. Thanks, but no thanks for farmed fish. Just no substitute.
It is true...fish is good and salmon, maybe the best...but you also say that conservation issues are not serious enough to warrant concern. What an absurd statement...and the way you state it, highly contradictory. Any issue that affects conservation MUST be addressed before it becomes too far gone. If not, we will all have to do with farmed fish ' in a pinch '....and fish farms are one of the worst detriments to the wild salmon in the mid-coast of BC and down. Please do not down play such a critical issue...there are already more than enough obstacles in the way of salmon...pandering to ignorance should not be another one.
I do not like salmon in way, shape or form, does not matter how it is cooked, my taste buds and stomach can't tolerate it.
