1. California and dynamite rolls

A fresh roll of sushi can be a flavourful and light meal. In some cases, however, it can be a diet-buster. Some California rolls are loaded with mayonnaise and dynamite rolls are made with battered and deep-fried shrimp. Imitation crab, found in most mall-variety California rolls, is high in carbs—and so is the white rice around it. Dipped in soy sauce, these sushi rolls aren’t much better than a fast-food meal. Choose fresh, sustainable sashimi instead, and order brown rice where possible.

This is quite helpful. As per the smoothie comment, if you actually look at t a nutritional information sheet for them, you'll find out just how much fat and sugar are in some of those "no fat, no added sugar" smoothies.
Yes, they still have all that fruit in them. But if getting enough fruit is your concern, just eat more fruit and avoid the issue all together. Or make your own smoothies at home. The fact is, foods made at restaurants are almost never as healthy as home made versions. Just eat fruit :P

I think if you are going to lump Booster Juice with Orange Julius then you should do your homework. Booster Juice does not use ice cream or added sugar. Their juice has no added sugar. Their yogurt is fat free plain yogurt and many of their locations use yogurt made fresh daily. There are a lot of their smoothies that have less than 1 gram of fat. And we all need at least 5 servings of fruit a day which you can get from one large smoothie.

I have heard the seaweed has MSG in it as well.

Thanks for posting this. I do agree with some of the things that you posted here. Some of the food choices like smoothies and frozen yogurt did shock me. However, I would like to add that even though salads like the one you mentioned contains more fat and sodium content if you don't eliminate the pecans and chicken, the 'fat' is healthy fat compared to the fat you would find in french fries. I think it is important to mention that because other readers might be cutting out these foods completely in their diets. In order to stay healthy, it is important to incorporate some fat in your daily diet, so long as you eat everything moderately.
