Hockey Fitness
Hi Bruce!
After 8 years I am going to play hockey again! I went out for my first skate and was shocked at how sore my calves were. Do you have any suggestions for me to make the transition back to hockey any easier?
jiggle
I've always had a rather thick mid-section, but since having two kids, it's gotten thicker and jigglier:(...
Do you have any good exercises to tone my whole core and back. I think that if my mid-section was stronger then my posture would also improve.
Food allergies
I am lactose intolerant and I need help adjusting recipes that call for milk or yougurt. What can I use as substitues. I've tried the lactose free milk and cheese and neither option works for me.
Muffin Top?
Since having my 3 child I am not finding it as easy to lose the mid section weight as I did with my first 2 children. I am turing 38 this year and I think my metabolism is slowing down...do you have some suggestions for me as to how to kick it in to high gear and lose the muffin top?

I'd like to work out (need to); however, even walking can be difficult. I have a bulging herniated disc in my lower back and am in a lot of pain. If I bend over to tie my shoes, well that can set me back for the day! Some days I can walk...but after 2 minutes my back will be yelling at me to stop. I haven't given up but I am SO out of shape. Help!
I have a foot / ankle injury
I have a foot / ankle injury and I'm missing running and long distance walking, do you have any suggests for a good cardio / full body work out while I heal? I miss the high calorie burning.
tight calves
I have rather muscular calves and have been told by massage therapists that they are very tight. Are there any stretches I can do that can can help with this? Could this be why I can't plant my heals in Downward Dog even after 10 years?
Building Upper Body Strength
Hello!
I am trying to build up enough strength to do push-ups for a fitness test. I can only do a few with my knees still on the floor. Are there any exercises I can do to build more strength other than trying to increase my reps of push-ups? I can easily do all other components of the test but I need upper body strength.
Hi there! You can practice
Hi there! You can practice doing planks in the pushup position. Try holding them for 30sec to a minute at a time. You can also do bench presses and flies. Good luck! Full pushups are hard, I can only do a few with good form.
