What's your biological age?
I just did the Vitality Compass quiz from the University of Minnesota (UofM) School of Public Health, and determined that my biological age is six years younger than my actual age (and no, I won’t be revealing the latter). The calculator also suggests that I’ll live to 90. But, I could live an additional 5.8 years if I pick up a few healthy habits, such as exercising more and eating more fruits and vegetables. No surprises there.

According to healthbolt.net, The Vitality Compass is based on a complex 106-page algorithm, which calculates your current longevity possibilities based on how you are living now. It was developed by Dr. Robert Kane at UofM.

What about you? The quiz only takes a few minutes, so do it and let me know how you score! It’s pretty cool.

Your body does a lousy job in metabolizing the Vitamin D in pill form, just like it does with Magnesium. That's why you need to get it from other sources. The Deramatological Society is partnered up with the Cosmetic Industry to promote sunscreen and it's all it's hazourdous chemicals. Hazourdous you say? Yes, look at the ingredients. Not been proven? That's what they said about smoking in the 50's and 60's. And it wasn't until the early 80's that the "establishment" acknowledged that smoking *may* cause cancer. This data was available and supressed way back in the 30's. The data is available, but it's buried because exposing it would result in major financial losses by those affected.
I'm all for live and let live, but isn't trying to extend your own life the single most selfish thing a person could do?
You know what they say: You don't live longer... it only *seems* longer.
Hey Lisa: My results were less positive. My biological age is only two years younger than my real age! And I will only live to 80. More scary, I am predicted to be susceptible to diseases etc. like now (?). However I loved the end result, lots of helpful tips for improving the state of affairs. With effort, I could add 11 years to my life...exercise is my nemesis. My problem is motivation. I want to exercise, but there's never enough time, or something else comes up. Working on it!
hi lisa, glad to see you took the Healthbolt challenge...as you and others say, the Vitality Compass offers no surprises but it's fun to do and gives you a little boost, especially with the biological age being less than the real age... Something I really liked about it was the final report and suggestions to remind you about things you might not be considering as part of a healthy lifestyle. Cheers, Liz
I hear you! The other factor is: living to 90 sounds pretty good. Not sure that I need to make that 95!
I did the quiz. I didn't fair as well as you Lisa but it did indicate what I knew already. I can add years to my life with exercise. I just have to get out there and do it. Maybe tomorrow.
