I agree that we probably think our kids are more fussy than they really are.
I d wonder about the age range of the children they surveyed. I know that I've been surprised with some of the things my kids say they like, but if I go to serve it to them they often refuse to eat it! Even something as simple as cucumber, which I've seen them eat a million times before!
I think the best thing is to leave them be and let them have some say over what they eat, but continue to offer them different things because their tastes (and mood:) change.
