Have you had a Pap test lately? Well ladies, there’s no time like the present to get back in those stirrups’especially since doctors across Canada are opening their doors to all women by hosting public Pat test clinics.

During National Cervical Cancer Awareness Week from October 24 -30, any woman can walk into a participating doctor’s office and get the test, even if you’re not an official patient of that clinic. Even more convenient: participating doctors are extending their hours and even hosting clinics on Saturday, October 30. So really, there’s no excuse not to get tested.

Girlfriends, Pap test save lives. Period. Getting tested regularly is your best defense against cervical cancer. According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, 1,500 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer every year. Fortunately, incidence of cervical cancer declined 2 percent between 1995 and 2004. The main reason: widespread, regular Pap tests.

So find your local Pap test clinic and hop up on that table! It may not be comfortable, but it could save your life.
