Country singer Kellie Pickler recently shaved her head as a way to support a friend who’s about to begin chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer.

"Cancer does not discriminate," says Pickler.

Pickler’s childhood friend, Summer Holt Miller, 36, was diagnosed with the disease in June. The chemotherapy treatment would have caused her to lose her hair, so she and Pickler decided to go bald first.

After appearing on Good Morning America with Miller for the big buzz, Pickler tweeted, "I cannot thank everyone enough for all the love and support you’ve given Summer. Chemo starts tomorrow. #SayAPrayerForSummer."
