YogaFit is a fitness-inspired Yoga program based on the fusion of eastern traditional hatha yoga and western fitness science. It’s also the largest yoga school in North America, hosted at various facilities, including a dedicated training centre in Toronto (read our review, here).

California-based president and founder Beth Shaw, who spent time in India and Asia studying yoga, launched YogaFit in 1994. There are now more than 200,000 YogaFit instructors worldwide. Shaw believes that anyone, and everyone, can do yoga.

First paid job: Working at a travel agency in NYC that left people stranded in other countries on charter flights.

Dream job: Writer with a ten book deal at a great publishing house.

Favourite yoga pose:
Triangle

Least-favourite yoga pose: Handstand

Diet: Gluten-free and clean. Mostly vegetarian. Never lamb, veal or pork ‘ most pigs are smarter than 3 year olds and a lot cleaner.

Go-to healthy snack: Almonds. They are great for travelling.

Favourite food indulgence: Cheese

Red or white wine?
Mostly red and sometimes white.

Coffee or tea? Coffee in the morning, green tea in the afternoon.

Indoor or outdoor workouts? Outdoor except weights, since they rust oudoors.

Morning or evening workouts? Morning when possible, afternoon when not.

Dream travel destination: Anywhere with trees, a beach and a warm breeze.
