The Tradex Exhibition Centre is hosting EAT! ‘a food lover’s dream, where celebrity chefs, local restaurants, wineries and cookbook authors host cooking demonstrations and food and beverage exhibits. Toronto and the rest of Canada, September 18

CBC Sports, ParticipACTION and True Sport will be launching the Sports Day in Canada. To help celebrate all sports, show your colours and wear your favourite team jersey (whether it’s the Leafs, the Lions or from a team you play on) on September 17. Go to CBCSports.ca/sportsday to view the 1,000 sport-related events taking place across the country between now and 18. So as Hal and Joanne would say "Keep active and stay fit."

Go for a run

Cape Breton, NS, September 19

The sixth annual Cape Breton Fiddler’s Run will take place this Sunday. The race starts at at the north end of Sydney, on the Esplanade, just before the first entrance to Victoria Park. There’s a great guide here for the route. But the best part isn’t saved for last’it’s the night before. All runners are invited to the pre-race fitness expo and pasta dinner to mingle and chat with other competitors. You can register here.
