October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we’ve got tons of content planned on besthealthmag.ca to cover the latest and greatest in breast cancer research, stories and fundraising. (The Best Health team is participating in Run for the Cure this weekend—and you can still contribute in our name!)

One new initiative I just heard about is courtesy of Avon. They’re launching a campaign called "Call for the Cure," encouraging Canadians to make a quick phone call and donate $2. All you have to do is call 1-900-561-PINK and $2 will be added to your phone bill, $1.72 of which is donated directly to the cause (the rest goes to administrative costs—Avon isn’t pocketing anything from this). When you call, you’ll be warned that it’s a toll number, then you’ll hear a message thanking you for your donation.

It’s quick, it’s easy, and Avon is hoping to raise $2 million for breast cancer research—no small sum. Visit avoncrusade.ca for more information, and don’t forget to email this post to a friend (click the letter icon at the top right of this post).
