How did model Tea Moir convince the Best Health team that she should be our September issue cover star? She sent us a video of her yoga practice.
We were looking for a woman with just the right combination of a warm, friendly smile, strong, healthy body, and athletic fitness ability to show off the gear in our fall yoga fashion feature. But while Moir is Canadian’She was born in Thunder Bay, Ont., and grew up in a small community outside of Kamloops B.C.’ she currently makes her home in Chicago, Illinois, and so wasn’t able to fly across the border for our casting session at the Best Health office in Toronto for us to meet her in person. So instead, she rolled out her yoga mat, set up her camera, and filmed the video below just for us:
Our team was immediately in awe of her yogi moves and perfect form. Some of the words out of our editors’ mouths while viewing? “Wow,” and “I wish I could do that!” Personally, I was hoping she could give me a yoga lesson on set!
“I practise Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga.” says Moir. But, “I’m always mixing it up to challenge my body.” Her six-days-a-week workout routine also includes jumping rope and weight training. As for her diet, Moir says: “I love to cook and eat ‘clean.’ I do indulge in sweet treats, but in moderation. In the near future, I plan to to study holistic nutrition and homeopathic medicine.”
