From beloved actress to health and wellness whiz, Halle Berry has officially launched her new wellness site.
This past year we’ve followed Halle Berry through her wellness journey that she’s shared via Instagram, which featured a weekly #FitnessFridayHB tip with her followers. But with her new site, Hallewood launching soon, she will now be sharing the inner layers of her life covering topics like beauty, consciousness, style, family, and health and fitness. According to the site, it’s a place where fans can stay connected through curated content designed just for them.
And while many other actresses have launched wellness sites (think: Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop site), there’s something different about Halle Berry. Maybe it’s the fact that we’ve watched her for decades at the theatres or that at the age of 51 she is simply ageless and has the body of a goddess. Whatever it is, one thing is certain: we want to know all of her secrets STAT.
From meditation to motivational reads (#HBBooksFromBed) to fitness tips, Halle Berry has us curious about her life now more than ever before. So, to get you familiar with her wellness world (if you aren’t already), here are a few of our favourite fitness tips from her Insta.
Fitness tip #1: Importance of stretching
This #FitnessFriday is dedicated to the importance of stretching! After I work out, it’s important for me to stretch and lengthen. Fitness is not just about running, lifting and punching. For me, being athletic and super fit is also about being still, stretching and breathing. Including stretching in my fitness program helps my muscles stay long, limber, improves my mobility and range of motion and, most importantly, helps me avoid injuries. This is one of my favorite #yoga poses, the shoulder stand, that stretches my lower spine and legs. I feel 2 inches taller after this stretch! Some people use yoga poses to manage stress, increase circulation, for medication, recovery, better sleep, and mobility just to name a few. Fitness tip #2: Dedication to staying focused
Today’s #FitnessFriday is dedicated to staying focused. As you can see, I’m having a hard time focusing this morning. Peter is all about the workout and all I want to do is avoid the workout 😂 It happens! Here is a tip for focusing that helps me stay on track: Find images of people who embody what you visualize yourself looking like, as well as phrases, slogans or mantras that inspire you. Then, find places to post them around the house. I like to put mine up in the bathroom, kitchen and my home gym. Seeing these gentle reminders throughout the day really does help! Fitness tip #3: Always remember the chest muscles
It’s #FitnessFriday and today let’s talk about the chest, LADIES! It’s seems like everyone I know is always complaining about their chest muscles or their lack of chest muscles! Many women I know often complain that gravity is taking hold of their breasts and they struggle to “keep 'em up”. For me, working out my chest muscles have been key to keeping the ta ta’s right. Besides wearing a bra to bed every night since I was 16, doing very specific chest exercises over the years have helped as well. For me it’s been important to work my chest muscles in a gentle way because the goal is never to get too muscular, but to stay feminine and long. So ladies, today on my IG Stories I share with you a simple exercise that I love. All you need is a ball and you can get started at home. We call it a ball up! WARNING, it does look easy, but do 50 reps for 3 sets 3 days a week and watch how much you sweat and how you begin to defy gravity! And for the guys, I know you all worry about your chest too. Peter shares the regular ball up and, for the super fit, a version with a little “hot sauce” on it. That’s what I call the super hard versions of exercises.
