It brings down blood pressure

Physical activity flushes out your arteries, cleaning them and keeping them clear and supple. In a recent study of more than 500 men and women aged 40 to 60, researchers found that physical activity is inversely related to the progressive buildup of plaque in the carotid arteries. Even people who played golf or gardened just a day or two a week had clearer arteries than those who did no leisure-time activity.
