I recently spoke to registered holistic nutritionist Ciara Foy about the importance of nutrition for healthy hair, skin and nails. Foy was at a Toronto event on behalf of Viviscal Hair Nourishment System, which is a daily supplement to promote hair growth. Ingredients include a combination of marine protein (shark cartilage, oyster), minerals and vitamins.

At the event, Foy also shared some great recipes. This Soaked Oatmeal To Go is full of hair-healthy nutrients like biotin, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc and vitamins A and C.

Ingredients
Gluten-free oats
Chia seeds
Unsweetened milk of choice (almond, coconut, rice, hemp, flax, etc)
Whatever toppings your heart desires! Try: nuts, berries, cacao powder, yogi berries, hemp hearts, raw pumpkin seeds, pure vanilla, granola, unsweetened coconut flakes, nut butter, cinnamon, etc.

Preparation
Take an 8 oz mason jar (or other sealable container) and fill it half full of the oats.
Add one Tbsp chia seeds and shake vigorously (with the lid on).
Add milk, leaving enough room for the toppings.
Add toppings, seal and leave in the fridge overnight.
