Method: To a shaker, add a small handful of ice, 1/4 cup (60 mL) cranberry-pomegranate juice, 1/4 cup orange juice and 1/2 cup (125 mL) soda. Finish with a squeeze of a lime wedge. Shake lightly, then pour into a martini glass. Garnish with lime.

Pear-fect gin cocktail

Method: To a shaker, add a small handful of ice, 1 slice of fresh ginger, 1 sprig of fresh cilantro, a big pinch of ground cardamom or nutmeg, and 1 thin lime wedge. Shake vigorously, then pour into a martini glass. Add 1/2 cup (125 mL) pear juice/nectar and 1 oz. (30 mL) gin. Garnish glass with a slice of pear.

Citrus and Brandy Toddy

Method: To a tumbler, add 1 oz. (30 mL) brandy, 1/4 cup (60 mL) grapefruit juice and 1/4 cup orange juice, and stir together with a stick of cinnamon. Garnish with a small pink grapefruit wedge.

Vodka-Lime Soda with Berries

Method: To a shaker, add a small handful of ice, 1 oz. (30 mL) vodka, 1/4 cup (60 mL) mixed berries and 1 tsp (5 mL) honey. Add 1 tsp each of lime and lemon juice, and top with a splash of soda. Shake lightly to combine, and pour into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a whole strawberry.

Virgin Mojito

Method: To a tall glass, add 6 mint leaves and 1 Tbsp (15 mL) lime juice. Mash together with the handle of a wooden spoon, being careful not to tear the mint leaves. Add 1/2 cup (125 mL) ice, 1/4 cup (60 mL) ginger ale and 1/4 cup soda. Stir well. Garnish with a wedge of lime.
