Back to basics

Source: Web exclusive: March 2008

Meet Paul Finkelstein, the man who is working hard to change the way Canadians eat. A teacher, husband, and father of three, the 45-year-old chef is looking to help us cut down our reliance on restaurants and ready-to-eat meals by promoting the appeal’and ease’of cooking at home.

Finkelstein, a graduate of Stratford Chefs School, has worked as a private chef at a villa in Tuscany and cooked at top restaurants in Ontario. But he now spends his time running the culinary arts program at Northwestern Secondary School. Last year, the Food Network followed Finkelstein and 16 of his students over a four-month period in the series Fink that culminated in a trip to Italy.
